Relationship BuildingThe Coalition serves to nurture and sustain relationships and alliances among diverse organizers and organizations across New York. Such efforts will serve to address the isolation often expressed among groups and individuals working in their respective communities.
Comprised of volunteer activists seasoned in an array of areas such as non-profit management, grassroots organizing, resource development and programming, these teams will work as a resource to local and statewide organizing efforts through sharing ideas, experiences, and strategies.
The Summit is intended to be an annual gathering of activist, organizers, cultural workers, and artists. This is a place where our communities comes together and build relationships, think critically, envision liberation, and create strategies that build and sustain a LGBTQ people of color movement.
The Coalition of LGBTQ POC seeks to provide advocacy and grassroots mobilization around social and policy issues that impact LGBTQ POC; support grassroots groups that represent LGBTQ POC; provide mentorship and support for LGBTQ youth of color; and recognize, celebrate and highlight the unique gifts and talents of LGBTQ POC in an effort to cultivate a healthy POC Community.
